Special Edition ADAMA Arts Salon: Actress CCH Pounder & Dr. Fahamu Pecou in Conversation for “Brother, Brother”

ATLANTA, GA — December 15— ADAMA, the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta, announces a special edition of the ADAMA Arts Salon featuring an intimate conversation between award-winning actress and esteemed art collector CCH Pounder and ADAMA founder and artist-scholar Dr. Fahamu Pecou. This event will take place on January 8, 2026 in celebration of ADAMA’s exhibition Brother, Brother: The Interior Lives of Black Men. Select Works from The CCH Pounder- Koné Collection which runs until January 16, 2026.

“Brother, Brother” invites audiences to witness the interior worlds of Black men, exploring their tenderness, resilience, vulnerabilities, and the complex emotional ecosystems often unseen beyond the gaze of the public. Through works by artists across the Diaspora, the exhibition offers rare access into the private spaces where Black men reflect, dream, and reckon with identity and possibility.

CCH Pounder, a globally respected collector of contemporary African Diasporic art, has long championed artists whose work interrogates the nuances of Black life. Dr. Pecou’s own practice centers the lived experiences of Black men and challenges stereotypical narratives through visual culture and critical theory. Together, they will explore the urgency and depth of the themes raised in “Brother, Brother,” discussing the ways art can illuminate, humanize, and restore interior spaces that too often remain hidden or misunderstood.

“This exhibition is an invitation—to pause, to witness, to reconsider the ways we hold space for Black men,” said Dr. Pecou. “CCH Pounder has been a powerful advocate for art that tells our stories with honesty and dignity. Bringing her into this conversation expands the dialogue in profound ways.”
