Delphine Diallo: Opening Reception

Opening Reception: Delphine Diallo: The Mythic Quest

Join the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta (ADAMA) on Friday, September 18 from 6–8 p.m. for the opening reception of Delphine Diallo: The Mythic Quest, the first solo museum exhibition from French-Senegalese visual artist Delphine Diallo.

Through photography, collage, moving image and artificial intelligence, Diallo explores identity, power, autonomy, spirituality and the representation of Black women. Inspired by the archetype of the hero’s journey, The Mythic Quest traces the artist’s own journey of discovery and transformation toward a new vision centered on a universal female gaze.

Delphine Diallo will be in attendance for the opening reception, giving guests a special opportunity to experience the exhibition in the presence of the artist and celebrate the beginning of a full weekend of art, conversation and community at ADAMA.

The celebration continues throughout Opening Weekend:

Friday, September 18 | 6–8 p.m.
Opening Reception with artist Delphine Diallo

Saturday, September 19 | 12–5 p.m.
Explore The Mythic Quest during ADAMA’s gallery hours.

Sunday, September 20 | 2–3 p.m.
The ADAMA Arts Salon returns for a new season with an intimate conversation featuring Delphine Diallo with Susanna Morris , inviting audiences to go deeper into the ideas, experiences and creative practice behind the exhibition.

Come for the opening. Return for the art. Stay for the conversation.

Join us for a weekend celebrating the work of Delphine Diallo and the power of art to reshape how we see ourselves, one another and the stories we inherit.
