Join the African Diaspora Art Museum of Atlanta (ADAMA) for the opening reception of Mending to Preserve, a multimedia exhibition by Accra-based hip hop archivist, photographer, filmmaker, DJ and cultural producer Selorm Attikpo, also known as Selormjay.
Through photography, mended artworks, archival materials, recordings and the stories of those who shaped Accra’s hip hop scene, Mending to Preserve challenges misconceptions about African hip hop while honoring the culture’s creativity, resistance and community-building power.
Guests are invited to experience the exhibition, connect with community and celebrate an important chapter of Black cultural history. Together, the work reminds us that mending corrects the narrative—and preserving ensures the story survives.
