Join ADAMA for a special edition of the ADAMA Arts Salon featuring contemporary artist Fahamu Pecou in conversation with acclaimed actress, cultural steward, and art collector CCH Pounder.
This intimate evening brings together two influential voices whose work engages questions of identity, authorship, representation, and the power of Black imagination. Fahamu Pecou’s multidisciplinary practice—spanning painting, performance, video, and scholarship—examines the construction of Black masculinity and challenges dominant narratives around Black identity and selfhood.
CCH Pounder, widely celebrated for her distinguished career in film and television, is also a passionate advocate and collector of contemporary Black art. Her commitment to preserving and uplifting artists of the African Diaspora has made her an essential voice in conversations about cultural stewardship, legacy, and creative responsibility.
Together, Pecou and Pounder will explore art as inquiry, collecting as caretaking, and the role artists and cultural workers play in shaping collective memory and future possibility. The conversation will move between personal experience and broader cultural reflection, offering insight into how Black creatives build interior lives and public legacies with intention.
The ADAMA Arts Salon is a signature conversation series featuring contemporary artists, curators, scholars, and cultural leaders from across the African Diaspora. Each Salon creates space for thoughtful dialogue, shared learning, and meaningful community connection.
